Formula 1 Apex Series Signup Thread

This serves as the official driver signup thread for the Apex Racing Series' Formula One World Championship league. If you need help deciding, click the link below that shows all of the F1 teams and drivers. All cars/teams will be evened out performance wise, so you don't have to worry about Red Bull or Ferrari being a lot faster than Marussia or HRT. Just pick your favorite driver or team or even that car you think looks coolest. Cars will be first come, first serve, so choose wisely. Once week 1 of the season starts, you are locked into the car that you have chosen for the entire season. Once season 1 ends, you can switch cars/teams if you choose to do so (if that car is open).

As far as teams are concerned, we will have a team championship as well as a driver's championship. You don't have to be on another league member's team, you can have an AI controlled teammate, but the option is there. Team championships will just combine each driver's points and the highest total wins. Feel free to team up with anyone in the league you wish to do so with, but maybe VM them or something to ask them and see if they are on board with it as well.

When you choose your car, tell me which team and which car/driver on that team you want to be (ex: Team: Scuderia Ferrari, Driver: Fernando Alonso).

We will start practicing once the game drops on Sept. 18th and the first official race is on Oct. 14th. Go to the Formula 1 sub-forum at the top of the Apex forum to see the rules and schedule.

What I had in mind is you can pair up with someone if you want to, but if someone wants to pick a different car or be by themselves, I wont make them have a teammate.

16 users allowed, and you can fill the rest of the field to 24 with AI cars.

Correct. If nobody wants or signs up to be your teammate, you would be paired with CPU controlled Jenson Button.

If by the end of the signups I am by myself and someone else is by themselves I'll volunteer to switch, I really don't care what car I am I just like the look of the Williams cars.

I think I will fire up 2011 and get some track time in soon. Even though I have 2011, I never played it enough to race all of the tracks, perhaps half of them.
